Morning walk to Seshnarayan Temple

This morning I took a walk to  Seshnarayan Temple, it´s just outside Pharping village.
The temple is known cos Guru Rinpoche have one of his two meditation caves there.
 A statue of Guru Rinpoche...
... and here we have his feet...
The Temple, and cave is almost melted into the mountain, you have to clime up some stairs to reach it...
As in whole Nepal, there are so many beautiful deitals, coulours, symbolism...
This pic, is a very true "Self portrait" of me! I am sooooooooo white (most) & black in my taste & style. And right now I am in the middle of an explosion of colors!!! So this  is exactly a good pic "Of me in Nepal" :) Surrounded of colors.
Here is the door into his Cave, if you go in here you can take you to the other cave, that is near my monastery. But now it is locked, cos people actually disappeared in here, and never were found again.
I lighted candles outside the cave, it´s suppose to give light to the once lost in the cave, and luck to the one that light it. (and of course, money to the once that sells it :) hihihihi... )
Yepp, this is a goat! not a dog!!! And this goat started to chase me! It really scared me for a moment, but people started to laugh and talk to me... so I relaxed, BUT with one eye on it, and one ear for the sound of the bell on its neck.
A view down on parts of the garden & fish pond...

A woman sitting near the entrance to the Temple, selling rise and color....
while a boy washes up in the water at the fish pond....

There are beautiful details all over, I could take so many pics here... and I did. I do all the time...

Down, on the street, you have a local bar... This is very much how it looks like here... This is Nepal.

On the other side of the road, were lots of monks doing their morning washes... almost on the road, and from a water stream, no larger than a ditch.
This road is the road between Pharping and Kathmandu. It´s super narrow, and I think is scary as hell from time to time to walk here...
Look!!! No sidewalks, no nothing, and here are lots of traffic..as well as people & animal...

Just jump up on the sand piles or right out in the vegetation.... It is heavy traffic, driving fast, and honking the horn ALL the time. I'm not joking!!!

But, it is working... they know how to deal with it... i don´t... :) I'm terrified!! But, I do it!

The entrance of Pharping! <3

Hanging out in the neighborhood......

Every day i go for a walk in the villages, and yesterday was my mission to find the famous Guru Rinpoche cave.
The path to the cave is lined by prayer flags, it must be thousands of them! Half way up the hill I met a beggar, I gave him some money, and 2 seconds after a new guy appeared (of course) But this guy wanted to sell some prayer flags to me.So I asked him about the meaning with them, he told me they are for good luck, so I decided to buy one.
He followed me up to the top, and told me I must hang it high up in the air, and then he easily climbed up on the pillar, ( remember, this is a sacred area, with lots of pilgrims/people visiting = lots of flags) And woila, I got my first praying flag!

Then he told me where I could find the cave, as was my main reason this day.
He followed me to the cave, and showed me so much more, told me the stories about it, he acted like my personal guide. Now you may say, It´s only cos you payed a lot! No no no, I didn't!  I only payed a 4th of what the other salesmen ask for :) I know how to haggle :)

So I was hanging around a bit with the dealer & the beggar. Nice, kind people.

This is the famous cave! Small, filled with people, and it was like 200 degrees Celsius in there  Madre Mia, I just steeped it for 2 seconds.

The picture above  symbolize Guru Rinpoche´s feet. (two red feet in the middle of all oil lamps) This is outside the cave.
This is a prayer wheel and it is suppose to give good luck as well, the "private guide  told me, so I went in and walked around it and in the same time spin the wheel, 3 times. So I sure had " a lucky day" yesterday ;)

It´s an amazing place i live in, don´t you think!
I'm happy & grateful!

Pharping - a holy site of Nepal

Pharping, the place I am in right now is known as a very sacred place, both for Buddhist & Hindus. But I don´t follow any religion,  I´m just very curious and want to know as well as explore, learn and understand.

Anyway, here are 2 caves, that the legend says was the place for Guru Rinpoche, thats one of the reason pilgrims are coming here to visit this place.

I'm am very lucky cos the other volunteer here at the monastery is born in Nepal, and are buddhist, he knows a lot about this. We went for a walk yesterday evening after dinner, but its so dark here, so its impossible to walk up to the cave, even if it is right around the corner were will live. So he promised me to come with me, probably today :)

So in the meantime I search for Guru Rinpoche on Google and found some nice mantras, this is one of them.
